H2Gro Greenhouses LLC consists of 7.5 acres of Hydroponic greenhouse.
- Seven under glass
- 1/2 acre under plastic

In our 7th growing season. We are in production 10-11 months out of the year and we produced over 3.3 million pounds of tomatoes last year.

Hydroponic Growing entails no soil, but a neutral growing medium. We use crushed coconut husk in a bag into which the young plants are placed and fed their nutrients.

The Greenhouse is Eco-Friendly & Bio-Friendly

• The heat for the Greenhouse is produced using special heat recovery equipment surrounding 7 electrical generators at neighboring Innovative Energy. These generators are powered by collected Methane gas released from Modern Landfill.
• H2Gro also recycles it's irrigation water using a special UV sterilizer before delivering it back to the plants.
• We use NO pesticides or herbacides in our greenhouse. Instead we use special biological predatory insects to control pests.
• Our entire greenhouse environment is computer controlled. From temperature, the Co2 in the air, the nutrients each plant receives, and the ph level in the irrigation water.
• All of our fruit is hand picked, hand sorted and ripened on the vine. We do not use any artificial ripening methods on our produce thus making a better tasting, better quality product.
• We employ 23 crop workers and 5 supervisor/managerial staff.

The H2Gro project won a SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) 2005 Gold Landfill Gas Utilization Excellence Award and 2005 New York State Environmental Excellence Award.
